Carnival 2019 Expected to Bring in Over R$3.5 Billion

Rio de Janeiro state officials expect revenue from the 5-day Carnival festivities to exceed R$3.5 billion, which chief economist João Gomes of the Federation of Commerce of Goods, Services and Tourism of the State of Rio de Janeiro says demonstrates progress in Rio’s economic recovery.  These estimates represent a 2 percent increase over Carnival 2018 revenue.  Read on for more:
